CodeCamp is an educational program aimed at teaching and encouraging young people in Ghana to learn computer programming, thus Coding.

Code is the term used to describe a Computer Program.

A Computer Program, also known as Software or Application, is simply a sequence of instructions that tell the computer to perform specific tasks.

Examples of Computer Programs are Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Gmail, Dropbox, Subway Surfer, Temple Run, Fruit Ninja and Angry Bird.

Anyone from primary school going age with very basic knowledge of computers or familiar with the use of computers can attend CodeCamp.

Basically, anyone can learn to code. All one needs is the interest and willingness to learn new things.

One only needs to Imagine, Think, and they will be able to Create.

CodeCamp is run all year round, with sessions beginning and ending on different dates.

There are now in-person and online sessions, as well as evening sessions for workers especially.

CodeCamp takes place at:

Yes. We have courses for people who have no previous knowledge of coding.

We gradually introduce first time coders to the concepts and principles of computer programming through introductory programming courses. Once students have completed introductory courses they can take any of the other courses.

For youngsters and beginners, we use very simple coding languages with commands in the form of visual blocks.

Kids of today are therefore encouraged to learn to code.

By dragging and dropping these visual blocks onto each other, one is able to create sequences of instructions that will make the computer perform specific tasks.

The method is similar to the use of the popular Lego bricks used by kids to build play structures and characters.

Coding becomes very easy to understand and fun to learn as a result.

Yes you can register for multiple courses.

You only need to ensure that the time of day that registered courses are taught do not coincide with each other.

You can either pay for a course by:

• Cash at our office or
• Mobile money through our contact number 0207 059 933 (Vodafone Cash)

Payments made by mobile money should include the charges made by the respective mobile telecommunication operator.

You can also contact us if you prefer to pay through an alternative method.

Yes.

You can either:

• Make full payment before the course commences, or
• Pay 60% of the cost before the course commences, and pay the remaining 40% midway through the course the course.

No.

Students do not need to be accommodated at CodeCamp. Students need to come from their homes on a daily basis to attend lessons or attend lessons online.

You will need the following when attending lessons:

• A laptop or tablet.
• A notebook
• A pen or pencil.

The maximum number of students per class is 9.

By so, tutors are able to spend a good amount of time on each student, to unsure they fully understand what is being taught.

They are all graduates in various Information Technology and Computer Science disciplines, with a minimum qualification of bachelor degree.

Additionally, all our tutors work in the IT industry, and so bring a wealth of practical knowledge to CodeCamp.

Each student will be provided with the requisite course materials for each registered course. These include but not limited to:

• Course notes that are accessible online.
• Online quizzes and tutorials.

Students who successfully complete each course and its requisite assessments will be awarded a certificate.
